Marketed under the trade name Duon®, we manufacture many different types and styles of furniture and bedding fabrics. Used as internal construction fabrics, Duon is made from the highest quality polypropylene fibers and are needlepunched to form a dimensionally stable fiber network. Unlike other fabric manufacturers, our products are tough yet lightweight as required for these applications.
- Dust Covers – Used on sofa, loveseat and chair bottoms to hide seating springs and/or mechanisms and to prevent fiber and foam fallout, Propex dust cover fabric enhances and reinforces construction with superior opacity, strength (to hold staples), surface abrasion resistance and puncture resistance.
- Spring Covers & Coil Spring Wraps – Propex spring cover and coil spring wrap fabrics are designed to provide strength, conformability and noise and abrasion resistance along the arms and backs of furniture; they are also used to cover seat springs and to support frame foam and fiber cushioning materials.
- Skirt Linings & Backs – Designed to provide stiffness to the outer fabric that forms the skirt around chair fronts, sides and backs, Propex skirt lining and backing fabric is structured to be both easy to sew and stiff enough to retain a structured appearance.
- Decking, Inner Construction & Breather Fabrics – Because these fabrics are exposed when seat cushions or back cushions are removed from a piece of upholstered furniture, Propex decking, inner construction and breather fabrics are engineered to provide color, stain and pucker resistance, as well as outstanding coverage and breathability.
- Pull Strips – Sewn to decking material and other fabric parts to allow the upholsterer to pull outer fabrics in place for stapling, Propex pull strip fabric is specifically designed with the tensile strength to hold staples, enhance seam strength and reduce seam slippage.
- Pillow Backs & Breather Backs – Propex pillow back and breather back fabrics are sewn to the back of outer upholstery fabric to form an envelope that hides filling materials. The easy-to-sew fabric offers high seam strength, abrasion resistance and low noise levels.
- Cushion Backs & Breather Cloth – The high tensile strength and low noise of Propex cushion back and breather cloth makes it a popular strength reinforcement fabric for all kinds of seat cushion backs.
- Dust Covers – Used for the bottom of box springs or foundations to prevent the leakage of fiber or other filling material, Propex dust cover fabric also provides the tensile strength to easily hold staples and resist abrasion.
- Flange – Slit to narrow widths (3-6”) and sewn to the mattress top and bottom panels in order to anchor them to the spring unit, Propex flange fabric blends high tensile strength with easy to conform, easy to sew capabilities.
- Quilt Backing – Propex quilt backing fabric is used as a carrier to hold stitches and support fiber, foam or a fiber-foam combination during the quilting process. This high performance fabric is a unique blend of low tensile strength and high bonding capacity.
- Mattress Insulators – Characterized by the high tensile strength required for attachment with metal fasteners, Propex mattress insulator fabric are used as a barrier to prevent filling materials from falling into the coil springs of a mattress or foundation.
- Pocket Spring Wrap – Propex pocket spring wrap fabric is used to form a “pocket” for each individual mattress spring. In addition to strong abrasion resistance, tensile strength and conformability, Propex pocket spring wraps have low noise levels, high oxidative stability and can be ultrasonically sealed.
- Mattress Pillow Top Liner – Sewn into the back of the mattress top to form a pillow, which is then filled and attached to the mattress unit, Propex pillow top liner fabric combines high tensile strength, sewability and low noise levels with high adhesive acceptance.
- Box Spring & Foundation Tops – Because Propex box spring and foundation top fabrics are used in visible applications like the top panel of a box spring unit, they combine high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, sewability and low noise levels with high levels of opacity and slip resistance.
- Mattress Ticking – Often used as outer ticking for bedding or sleeper mattress units, Propex ticking fabric features the same qualities as box spring or foundation tops. The fabric can also be printed.
